Hi, Does it make a difference if the remote oil filter is mounted upward as opposed to downward? Would that have an effect on oil pressure?
Thanks again Roman

nope. Makes a difference where the oil spills though when it comes time to change the filter.

Re: Remote Oil Filter Question

My oil filter is mounted up side down and when I change the oil, I poke a hole in the filter to let it drain prior to removing. I also use a filter with the "antiback flow" check valve (not sure what it is really called), so the oil does not drain out on its own after the engine is turned off.

Re: Remote Oil Filter Question

Mercruiser specifically reccomends against poking the filter. The way I heard it people were damaging the filter element allowing the bad stuff the filter collected to drain back into the motor.
