Remote trim wont go up??

I just bought a 2001 stingray 190ls. It has a 3.0 mercruiser alpha drive engine with remote trim. Second time i take it out it i try and pull the trim up after loading it on the trailer and it wouldnt come up..After removing the rod that connects the hydraulic actuators we lift the prop up and stick a log under it to hold it so i can drive home...I messed around with it the other day and when i hit the trim up or down button the trim pump unit would make a clicking noise which it did not do before when it worked fine...But while watching the actuators while pushing the trim up or down button they did not move..Any ideas??? and can you use the trim up or down while the engine is running?

Last question first... Yes, you can (and should) use the trim button while under way... That's why it's called 'trim'...

Ok... the trim pump not running.... If you can hear the solenoid clicking, but not the pump motor running, then get a meter and check the output of the solenoid... Should be 12v. If it isn't, then replace the solenoid. If there's 12v there, check/repair/replace the motor.... The clicking sound is the solenoid. You may not have heard it before because as soon as the solenoid clicks, the motor should start running... The click would have been masked by the motor running.

Solenoid with the green wires is the DOWN solenoid, and the BLUE wires are the UP solenoid.
