I have two six gallon fuel cans in my boat and was wondering if someone already makes a dash mounted switch to change tanks or if any of you have ever tried to utilize a tank transfer switch out of an older model pickup with dual tanks.Just wondering before I attempt this for myself.

thanks
dave

------------------
no replacement for displacement!

It maybe hard to do than you think. I believe that most pickups along with diesel have to have a transfer pump which is a large style pump, so I'm not sure how you would mount the pump on such a small tank.

No transfer pump is necessary. Just the electric fuel tank transfer valve and the dash switch. And just so you know, DO NOT attempt to use a simple "Y" fitting. You cannot draw from both tanks at the same time. You can but are asking for and WILL find trouble. Since the two tanks will never be exactly the same level, one may siphon into the other. Next, one tank will always empty before the other so the engine then sucks air. Just do it right and avoid fuel spillage, fire, and a ruined engine.
