Removal of 1969 outdrive

I have to now remove the outdrive. It is an old one, 1969 or older Kiekhaefer drive. There are no external nuts or bolts such as the ones found on the alphas and such. It has a lift ring on top and fluted sides.
Do I do this from the inside or from outside?
