Removal of registration numbers

Getting the boat ready for splash and totally forgot that I have to change the registration sticker and numbers. What is the best way to remove the old without messing up the hull? Also would your suggestion work on removing the name as well? That appears to be on for a longer peiod of time.

A hot air gun. Just make sure you don't get it too hot.

Yup, that's what I used. They came right off.

Yes but after the removal you are going to see "ghost" lettering. Remove that with rubbing compound.

If you're going to rename the boat, must follow decomissioning/blessing process outlined in the forums.
