Hi,
Could someone tell me how I remove the handle off this Mercruiser shifter in the attached picture? I found a small Allen set screw which I removed and I tried prying the handle up but didn't want to break it since I wasn't sure how it came off. This shifter has the Trim and Trailer button on the handle.

My old OMC shifter handle was easy to remove as it had a plastic cover with a set screw under it. Once I took that out, it came right off. Thanks in advance for your help!!!
Ron

Head up to the Adults only sticky at the top of this forum, there is a service manual for the controls in it. No doubt you will need it for further dissassembly and reassembly.

Thanks Don! I may be a bit slow (disclaimer). I found the service manual index for the following (See attached thumbnail pic):

**********************************************
? ? 90‑814705R03 Service Dec. 2006 Remote Controls Mercury remote controls 1998?**********************************************
This looks like what I need but that particular service manual doesn't have an index number next to it to determine which one to download. What am I missing?
Thanks,
Ron
