Remove 190hp omc tilt motor

How the f do I remove this do I need to take motor out? 190hp older omc tilt drive stuck hammer doesnt work 20210528_130622.jpg20210528_130620.jpg

2 long bolts at the end of that motor (engine side) The motor will try to fall apart as you remove it.

its a real PITA

and in most boats, you must be standing on your head to reach it.

That doesnt make sense it's not attached to the engine and it doesnt have bolts the other omc has a flange for bolts this one doesnt. I cant feel any engine side bolts

This is the incorrect tilt motor my boat the tilt motor has no flange so I am unsure where these engine side bolts would be? I am confused20210528_154241.jpg20210528_154248.jpg20210528_154332.jpg

The motor you have in your hand is for later stringer models , what year is that boat ?

#11 in this pic shows the bolt we are talking about ( there are 2 that you need to remove )
Feel the end of the motor , in the bilge area . They are 7/16 IIRC

Actually they are 3/8” hex. A short combination wrench either 6 or 12 point was my tool of choice. Sometimes a 3/8” universal socket 1/4” drive with a extension and driver handle after the bolts are loose.
And of course, patience.

Thank you that makes more sense I read 1 post saying need to remove the engine I'm like that makes no sense. Will try after weekend when I am back
