Dear All

With the assistance of this group, I've been rebuiling a Johnson 115 V4 1976 Seahorse. I tried to use a puller to remove the gearcase bearings yesterday. I have removed the cotter pin, nut, prop, spacer, and the 4 bolts at the back of the gearcase. Initially, I stripped the two threaded holes that you secure the bolt from the puller to. I then wrapped chain around the bearing case, and again used the puller. No matter how much I tried, the bearing case simply would not budge. I tried hitting it a few times with a wooden hammer, tried WD-40, penetrating oil, everything. Am I missing something really obvious, or is it just a case of pulling a little harder ?

Thanks

Liam
