I am in the prosess of removing my 1985 C/CRAFT scorpion 266 from the trailor in my back yard and re building the trailor and I would love to post the project on this forum with pics but I cant figure out how to d/l the pics here can some one help me here I think this will be a project that will help some one the future with the removal and rebuild. tks tboss

Photobucket has been a big help in getting pictures posted here because it is easier to resize them as well as keep a running album that you can share. If you have windows vista the windows live photo gallery also has a fairly easy option to resize pictures, and one thing we love here is to share our photos with our friends here on the forum. I am also about to rebuild my buddys trailer soon and will be replacing the bunk supports and u-bolts as well as the front bow guide.

you can up load to a free service like photobucket.com then you choose the pictures you want( clik the little box at the bottom left of the picture) scrool to the bottom of the page, clik generate html, it will take you to the next page, scroll down to thumb nails clik on that and copy, then insert it into your post.

also if you are planing on posting pictures, you can use the Blue post reply or the go advanced, manage attachments, there you can upload , directly from your computer. besure you pictures have been resized to fit the format.

how do you plan on removing the boat off of the trailer?
I never understood how those boat show guys do it so quickly.

The boat I am working on is a 19' Hydra Sports CC, weight about 2000 lbs. I will use my big floor jack using wood against the hull, and wood and concrete block with the webbing down to position under the transom. The bow will be done in atwo step process. I made a v shape from 2x12 and vertical support to hold it up. This boat is half the weight of most cars, so they are not as heavy as you think. For the OP he will have a good bit more weight to deal with. Am hoping he will post some pic's.

Getting Boat Off Trailer

you don't need stands.

1/you can lower the tongue to the ground. i would get some 6x6 or old railroad crossties cut the +- 12 inches, now block up the transom. 2/

Raise the tongue of the trailer the back of trailer will drop away from trailer. this is the tricky part. between the cross braces of the trailer block the keel lower trailer, boat will be suspended on the blocks.

3/ pull forward, lift bow again, and reblock i a different place. repeat until trailer is out from under the boat.

4/ to reload, just reverse the procedure.

if you were just working on the bunks, or painting the bottom. you could just do the first 2 steps.

That is easy. You will need to have the photobucket page open as well as this page in separate tabs/windows.

Right click the photo that you want to upload.

Under "Properties", copy the entire address that appears at the "Location".

Now reply to this post. When the reply box opens, there is a little icon at the top of the white writing box that looks like a mountain with a yellow background - click on it - this is how you add a photo. If you hover your cursor over it it will say "Insert Image".

A small box will pop up, just delete the "http" that is in there and paste the info that you copied from the photo's "location"

Skip a few spaces and do the same for each photo you want to upload.

But how would you lift up the trailer tounge, when it is on the ground? It would be too low to use the 3rd wheel, you could not pick that up by hand.

something is not rite...you must use the location properties from the hosted image on Photobucket, NOT the photo saved to your computer.

Well sundowner as you have probably figured out by now Im a dummy when it comes to the putter. It seems to go well until I click on proberties and when the window opens I cant seem how to copy the adress If I try to highlite the address it wont work and Where do I find the url of the image . pls work with me and maby we can figure this out. I really want to show my progress on the trailor rebuild. The boat is off and repair is chugging along. Tks terry

here are his pics. i suggested in the PM, that he put a beam under the transom also, those jack are not enough, the use the jack in the center and addition bracing.

Bowman this is what I did I placed the 8 ton jack between the tongue and the hull with a piece of wood on top of the jack and raised the bow 4 inchs then I raised the aft end 4 inchs Once the bow was high enough we slid the beam under the bow and centered it up. We placed a jack under each end of the beam with a piece of steel plate on top of the jack THIS IS A VERY SCARY PART OF THE PORJECT. i TIED THE BOW TO MY DODGE TO STABILIZE WHEN RAISING IT (Opps sorry for the caps its my crooked finger agin ) I raised the front 4 inch and then shift to the aft and raise it 4 inches I used two jacks at the same time on the rear one on each side and raised them together. I kept checking it to see if it was going up level. By switching back to front I eventually had it up the high enough to remove the trailor. I also lowerd the bunks once the boat was off them to keep from raising the boat to high and I also dug a ditch under the wheels abt 6 inches but if your on concret thats not feisibly. . If you will notice there is a veeded out block to rest the keel on the bow this will help stabilize it and give it a good foundation to sit on . Since I took these pics I have shored up under it more to stabilize it per ( tashasdaddy s suggestion ) I am having a hard time figuring out how to load the pics so tashasdaddy was kind enough to d/l these for me. I have more of the removal and will send them soon tks tboss. PS dont forget to remove the bow hook from the bow eye trust me on this one lol

I have had this boat for 2 years and have never had her in the bay. I have been going over her with a fine tooth comb and re doing all the wire connectors re worked some of the wood work in the cabin and gave her a complete preping and new paint but she is kinda dirty now I hope to float her this spring or maby eariler as we dont have to necessarily wait for spring to do boat things here in P/cola florida. hehehehehe Terry-----tboss BTW as you can see I loaded this pics myself with a lot of help and patience from tashasdaddy tks agn Bob
