I once had this happen and discovered the bi-metal was installed backwards in the cover.'nutcase

I think I will need to do something. The choke is acting so goofy that it's sometimes pulling the cam up with the engine fully warm, and then the idle speed is too high and I'd rather not slam the dogs when shifting. When I removed the vertical choke rod (which hooks into the cam), the cam just rotated down to the point where the screw was in mid air, so when idling down the rpm's would drop drop drop and the engine would die.
