Remove trolling motor lower unit before fixing a bent shaft - I destroyed mine

I destroyed my beautifully working motorguide trolling motor when fixing my bent shaft without removing the lower unit first. So I hammer the bent shaft and broke the magnets inside the lower unit housing. A diy nightmare, so I am posting this to help others who need to fix their bent shaft. Use blow torch to melt the loctite to loosen the shaft and remove it from the lower unit. It is a lot cheaper and easier than buying a new TM or new lower unit. URGH!!!!
