Hello we have a 03 283 Grady with a Furno BB sounder. The transducer is bad and needs to be replaced. It is a through hull on a high speed fairing block. I think it in with 5200. Any good Idea on how to break it loose?

Re: Removing a transducer

Go to the marine store, that sells 5200, and get the anti-5200. I don't know the exact name but it's made specifically for 5200 removal. Do a little each day (if time allows) cause you'll have to pry it some, get some chemicals between, repeat and repeat. I jumped right in and pried mine off with 3 flat srapers, fairly slow, took a chunk of gelcoat off the hull. Not good. Try that breakdown chemical! Good luck!
