I have only posted once here, so you know that I am new to the forum, but I am also new to outboards. I have a 1968 Evinrude 6hp 6802C Fisherman that I just rebuilt the ignition system on, but now am having problems getting fuel. I assume that it is the carb b/c it will fire on carb/choke cleaner, but how do you get the bowl off without removing the carb. If I have to remove it, what is the procedure and will I need a new gasket? I have a manual on order but it has not come in yet.

Thanks and God Bless, Ryan

the bowl has 4 bolts, carb has to come off. first time it is a real PITA, dealing with the starter recoil.

Thats what I was afraid of... how about the seal/gasket? Should I just plan on rebuilding it while I have it off?
