Hi, I'm trying to remove the carburetor on my Ted Williams. It looks like there's two nuts holding it on, and that's it, but I loosened them, and I can't seem to wiggle the carb loose. Also, there's four phillips head screws that I believe hold the piece between the head and the carb on. (the fin assembly?) Do I have to remove these screws too? I'm just stuck, and I'm hoping I don't have to remove the whole head in order to get the carb off. Any suggestions?

On some models it is necessary to remove the reed valve assm.
Otherwise there is no specific instruction on carb removal in my after market manual;so probably is straight forward. You should work with a manual.there are some somewhat unusual procedures.

Go to www.searspartsdirect.com and put your model number in.

There is nothing holding your carb on but those two nuts. Odds are someone used some sort of gasket goo to assemble it the last time. Bump the carb from both sides, alternately, with the heel of your hand. Firmly, but not too hard. That'll break the adhesive. Don't pry on it or you'll damage the flange. It'll come off.

Sears has few parts available for that engine. www.certifiedpartscorp.com has most parts. Call the number on that website with your model number at hand. If you have the part numbers from the Sears site, it'll help speed up the process.
