Removing l/u 79 100hp Johnson

Need to remove lower unit on a 79 100hp Johnson...where do I undo the shift rod?

Remove the shift rod connector screw (slotted)- look on starboard side bottom under the throttle lever, a few inches behind the carbs. <br />Don't forget to remove the bolt above the trim tab. Mark the position of the trim tab so you can replace it where it was.

Tanks Zeke...got her off...manual don't cover some things so I looked at a later model book and wala, there it was...Thought
