There are 3 orings, the on on the bottom seals the water out and the 2 above that seal the oil in the extension that houses the driveshaft. Deposits around the bottom one is the thing that the upper gear housing gets hung up on. I tried everything in that video and there was no way it was coming apart. Had to resort to more extreme measures

There are 3 orings. There are only 2 that you will replace. The third one Lou is referring to is under the water passage housing. The one on the bottom keeps air from entering the cooling system. You cant see this one unless you remove the 5 or 6 7/16" nuts, then pull the housing off. Which I wouldnt do.
