Most gasoline now has ethanol, which absorbs water. If you have more water in the tank than can be absorbed, you need to drain from the bottom of the tank, until you get to clean gasoline. I would use a siphon hose thru the fuel gauge sender hole, and siphon thru bilge drain into a seperate jerry can. A clear container will allow you to see the water, and you can pour off the good gas, for reuse. After the tank is empty as best as you can, add some denatured alcohol to get the rest of the water. Siphon this out and dispose of it.

DO what the last post said and put in or change you fuel separator, no reason to get stranded for a $25 kit.

Ditto.
If you park the boat/trailer on a side hill, or one wheel up on a curb, you can get the water to gather in the corner under the filler tube, and then siphon it off as directed above.

Look at what you get. If there's sludge in it, you may have to empty and clean the tank and the pickup tube. E85 is a good cheap solvent for that job as long as you get most of it out.

hope it helps
