I'm gonna yank the motor in the near future and want to know if I can pull the sterndrive at the same time? If not do I have to support the sterndrive in any way so as not to damage anything? It's an inboard/outboard OMC175(ford302) w/a175 OMC drive.

Re: Removing motor?

Yes. Pull drive first, then remove engine. the intermediate housing will support itself on the rear mounts just fine-if stringers are not rotten. 'nutcase

Re: Removing motor?

Thank you. Now what I need to do is find someone who knows how to weld cast to repair the cracks I found in the top rears of my manifolds. I'd like to get new ones but from what i've seen they're very spendy.

recently saw center riser conversion kits available for the 302/351 for dirt cheap... like $220/side with the risers...

And your manifolds might be cracked internally, better off replacing them than risking severe engine damage. And center rise design breathes better anyway. 'nutcase

Do you have any particular place where I can check into that?
