Working on ChrisCraft Catalina boat project.Just reaped off old carpet which was glued on the steps to the cabin.
It left ugly layer of brownish harden glue.
Anybody had remove that with success ? Any chemicals I can use to do this job ?

I had my best luck with a chemical called a 36grit disc on a 5" grinder.

Re: Removing old carpet glue.

I've had good luck with a wire brush in my drill. Just cleaned out the whole cabin headliner of the Carver in about an hour. It won't grind smooth like sand paper on a disk if you are worried about the weave of the fiberglass (like I have)

Throw away whatever shirt and pants you wear whilst doing this and for sure don't forget and throw them in with the rest of your favorite shirts and pants into the washer.

this is what I have.
