Rubber Prop cap on this motor is simply pressed on.No cotterpin. Drive pin is under.Curious if anyone has delt with one of these?Im wondering if its possible to get off without this 54 year old prop cap crumbling?Listed as the same part number as the cottered cap.303365.

Dealt with one?? Heck yes, that rubber cap was used on all the 5, 5.5, 7.5 Johnson/Evinrude/Gale motors of the era that had full FNR gearshifts. It actually snaps on--there is a groove in the end of the shaft that it snaps into. 303365 is the correct number.

The drive (shear) pin holds the prop on. The rubber cap just holds the drive pin in. There is supposed to be a stainless steel cotter pin aft of the prop, inside the rubber cap. That cotter is to keep the whole shebang from sliding off in the event you shear the drive pin.

OMC/BRP has declared the rubber cap obsolete. But Peter McDowell is making reproduction ones, so you are safe.
