Hey everybody, this is my first post, and hopefully not my last. I have intentions on posting a rebuild of my 74 Starcraft open bow, but I ran into a problem with my trailer, it needs welding and I'm having a hard time finding someone in my area to do the welding foe me so I can get started on this rebuild. Anyone have any suggestions on how I should remove the parts of frame I need removed and New peice welded in It's place.

More than likely, better off to just buy a new trailer if its that rusted. Share a picture or 2 of areas you want metal replaced?

Yep, if rusted that badly, it is likely throughout the frame tubes.

Small one man fab shop or fixit shop might do it for you, but even they don't want to be responsible for an unsafe trailer on the road.

All the metal is the same age... and was protected the same when the built the trailer, then exposed to the same road salts, rain, immersions in the lake (or saltwater...)

It all going to be just a lacework of rust.

Just whack the part with a hammer and it might fall off... Whack somewhere else on the frame and the hammer might go through.

Hard to give an advice without some pictures. If a local weld/fab shop isn't up for the job chances are it is beyond repair.
