Just for my own edification, also add 2% wax as well, correct? Or else sanding will be a pain in the butt.

Oh good catch again Mad Props, you are correct put some wax in the mix as well, OR if the spots are small you can tape plastic over em and it'll cure and sand just fine. Polyester is Air Inhibited cured so if you seal it from the air, it'll cure and be sandable. Using way makes things easier in the long run. Plastic is more for one spot repairs.

The area is 12 sq ft on one side and 9 on the other.

Could simply hose it down with pva

Used it a few times to get non-waxed resin and gel to cure. Spray it with a preval sprayer (thinned with a bit of water) or spray it with a harbor freight "purple" gun

just picked up some supplies, including 1/2" poly core foam board.....gunwales will be smooth.....and then I am building a radar arch (another thread)

for those skins look into frp panals at box stores , they are poly so resin will stick to them but it would give you a nice start that was flat and smooth and lightweight.
