Just got this motor and it needs a carb overhaul. Obviously the starter bracket has to come out first and I can't figure out for the life of me how to get that bracket loose. There is a couple of bolts and then a stud with a nut.

There is a bolt behind the solenoid that is impossible to get to with with a tool...does this have to come out?

It's number 60 on the parts diagram.

Any help would be greatly appreciated on Jett this off to get to the carb

Did you loosen and pull the solenoid out to give you a little more room for that bolt? Also try different wrenches, the angle of different brands are off by just a couple of degrees but sometimes it's just enough to get to the hard ones. I just rebuilt the carb on my 35 this past spring, but other than moving the solenoid out of the way, I don't remember have a problem.

You have to remove the Solenoid from the U bracket to get that bolt....make sure you disconnect the battery cable on the battery.....as u have a live cable on one end....

I believe the throttle control connects to it also....take that off also...dont loose the U type clamps....then push that to the side and you get a little more room to get to the solenoid
