Hello,
I had a problem on the lake today and broke my steering cable
the marina said theyd fix it for close to 400 bucks, but looking at this website it looks like i can buy the cable much cheaper (under 200). Anyways heres my dilema:
I pulled the cable out of the steering box no problem (teleflex rotary) but am wondering about how to remove the part on the motor. It looks like the whole steering rod is holding the motor to its frame, kind of like a pivot joint. Im afraid if i pop it out the whole motor is going to fall and ill be in big trouble then.
Also there seems to be 2 parts on the starboard side (shown in pic) but the whole thing moves as one unit. There seems to be a small tube inside a larger tube.
The pic on the port side didn't turn out great but there seems to be a piece on the end (that holds the steering bracket) that swivels on the larger tube but doesn't seems to thread off. Does it come off somehow?
If someone can help me get this off id appreciate it!
Thanks!
