but I have to add to this one...
Foley is supposed to be a public icon,leader, a respected person and one would assume expected others to follow, and some here I can see you cant drive a nail in their head, he had sex with a male minor for goodness sake get through you head its wrong wrong wrong, if he did this in his home with another consenting male adult it's still wrong here's why

No, he didn't. The only thing he did was send nasty emails. And nobody is saying that isn't wrong.

Just because it isn't part of your lifestyle, doesn't make it "wrong". No, gay sex amongst consenting adults is not illegal in the united states. To even suggest such a thing is ridiculous.

So then if I don't want to have them all rounded up and sent to an island,yet I don't buy into the gay lifestyle and all of the pseudo-scientific data that says that gay males pose no more threat to my health ,or to the safety of children than any other individual,does that make me a homophobe? Maybe in your book it does.But not in mine.

Come now, just because a few questions are asked and some observations are made I don't think that warrants calling the authors homophobes.

You did a lot more than ask questions and make observations. I seem to remember a little something about sending them off to an island to die? Forget about that already?

It isn't your homophobia that bothers me. It's your bigotry. It would be exactly the same if you were talking about black people, or jews, or any other minority. It all disgusts me. Calling you a homophobe is not an insult, but simply a description of your personality.

By the way, when and where did that term.......homophobe....originate?

If you're so accepting of gay behavior,then why don't you enlighten us on exactly what it is that gays do behind closed doors or out in the park for that matter that you don't like. That is,unless you're a homophobe.

I couldn't care less what they do, I just don't want to watch it, or hear about it, because I'm not gay. I don't want to watch you having sex with a woman either. And if you do that in the park you'll get arrested. Common decency laws apply to all orientations.

The problem comes when people start saying stupid things, like we should round them all up and put them on an island somewhere. That is genocide. Disgusting, illegal, and just plain stupid to say.

The statement that if they lived on an island they would become extinct is a logical observation. If homosexuals could all live in on a beautiful South Pacific Island with beautiful beaches that they could romp around and enjoy each other as much as they wanted..... no one to cause them any problems because there wouldn't be any......cough.....homophobes around, wouldn't that be nice? I mean for them. They could dress anyway they wished or not dress up at all. I mean they could have group sex and no one would care. Right on the beach. In public. I mean it would be their island. Sadly though they would eventually die off. but we all do....There would always be new homosexuals to fill the island, but sadly there wouldn't be any dads or grandfathers on that island. Just fresh new homosexuals to romp the beautiful beaches and enjoy each other. Now does that sound like I wanted them to die.......as you put it?

Now how can I be a bigot? I think you also referred to another author of a post as a bigot. Really zmoz. Isn't a bigot someone whom in the face of facts refuting his position stays his course? I haven't recalled any such exchanges going on here.

Yes. Not by "my book", but "the dictionary". But I'm sure the dictionary is probably wrong, right? If you start making up your own definition for everything, then technically you're not speaking english.

Everybody should be afraid of pedophiles, but just because someone is gay doesn't mean they are a pedophile. Anybody who is afraid of gay people in general, or simply thinks they shouldn't be allowed to be gay, is, by definition, homophobic. Just like guys who have sex with guys are homosexual. It's not an insult, just a description.
