i would like to repaint my 1976 25 hp evinrude, i have read alot of good info on where to get paint (although i could still use a little help) my problen is the "band" around the cowling where the evinrude logo and the number 25 is located is not a decal,....it appears to be painted on from the factory, i really want to freshen up the paint job on this motor and yet still keep the original factory look, but i am not skilled enough to detail paint the logo. are there any aftermarket logos to match? painting the new colors on is not the issue, i do that for a living, it/s the logo i need, and the best place obviously to buy the omc paint. any help will be greatly appreciated!!!!!!

You can get original Evinrude metallic blue paint from your boat dealer for about $9 a can.
My 78' 25 hp has a decal band on the cowl. Ebay has a lot of decals but finding an original NOS is going to be difficult.

Measure the painted logo on your cowl and take some good digital photos of it, with the rule/tape in the photos. Then go to a local graphics/sign shop...they can make you a vinyl decal for not much $$$ and do custom colors, too. Just depends on what you want to spend. If it doesn't have to be factory paint color, take your cowl or a small, removeable piece that is the same color to the auto parts store and check the Duplicolor or Tempo auto paints to match the color.
