Listen to YD, the Rusto and Krylon look great at first, but it won't hold up below the waterline on the lower unit, or at least it never has for me. I've tried their primer and followed the instructions on the can. The housing was spotless clean too. Now I've done okay on the cowling with the spray cans.

That's an interesting colour scheme. What colour are you gonna paint the lower unit? Are you putting decals on?

LU going to be black. I'm going to put a decal on the cowl in gold saying Chrysler 75 in a nice font. I use a vinal decal. I'm sanding the LU now right down to the metal. So I can do it right. I plan to use merc. black outbord pait for LU.
