I have a Hydra-Sports 18.5 F/S with a Johnson 150gt. It has a Raker SS 14 1/2 x 22P prop on it now. I can tell the prop has lost most of its cup and I am not getting enuff bow lift. It runs 48mpg on GPS @ 5100rpms now. Should I get it reworked and drop the pitch some or just start over? Would a larger diam. prop help with lift? It planes good just will not get to full rpms.

If its SS then I would do a rework. Do ya have tabs or powertrim on that thing that could be effecting it. If your NOT getting to max rpm the I don't see how loosing cup would do that. Usually you would increase rpm as the cup gets smaller. I'd look elseware. Trim om the motor, engine running correctly. And xtra weight added or removed from the boat? What do you mean by bow lift? Not coming on plane? Make sure that props tight too. Sounds like your main problem is los of rpm. Overcupping would do that. Impropper trimming would do that. Are you just used to the bow riding higher while underway? If you trimmed the nose down and the boat plained better, this would give you more speeed and rpm. Cupping will just give you less rpm. Sounds more like a motor or trim problem to me.

No trim tabs but the engine is running good and the trim works fine. What I mean by bow lift is the boat is not getting the bow up enuff to get on the pad even with the engine trimed all the way up. If I hit some choppy water by myself it will get on the pad and stay untill I slow down. But it comes on plane with no problems. I havent had the boat very long and I have just got the engine going good so I have nothing to compare it to.

What a "pad"? I've been boating since in diapers and never heard that one  I think I'm seeing where your goin with this tho. I HAVE to guess what pad means! A water skying term for like popping a wheelie in a boat to make a huge wake? And if I'm right, no I didn't look it up:)
