Nope, I didn't notice and I think this happens a lot because the posting date and time is so small that most people don't look at it. Its also natural to assume that it is a recent post when it has been bounced to the top of the section that it is in.

At any rate, its still an interesting topic and is likely to be of interst to a lot of people because these problems happen frequently.


PS: To the OP - if you are still paying attention to this ... what did happen?

What is the name of that dealership? I'd like to bring my boat by and have them give it a once-over by someone who really knows what to look for and isn't afraid to point out problems!

this is good info I knda agree w the repair shop fixing 1 part of a hole problem is not good . if u want it fixed right fix the hole thing and pay it. If nott enough money get a cookie jar and masking tape or duck tape and a sharppie labe it boat fund and sit on top of fridge and all the change from ur pocket and wife purse dump it in there w a 20 or 50 bill and watch grow

I guess thats why the original poster hasnt answered back.. DUH.... He probably got shot by someone from the repair shop...

old posts are the best to rehash. Mostly because it's hard to rehash a new post while you're still hashing it for the first time.

That said, I agree with Jay...

In the earlier example of wether or not to pay a doctor... when you see a doctor, the work you asked him to do was to give a diagnosis... would you pay a doctor that refused to see you, but billed you for waiting all day in the waiting room? Hell no.

They weren't asked to diagnose problems with the boat, if they want to charge him for that, I would file complaints with the BBB and the FTC at the very least... but then again, I don't put up with bullying. Oh yeah, and I'd hook up and take back the boat before they screw around with it. If they tried to stop me, I'd have my lawyer file suit, and I might even consider contacting the FBI about pressing criminal fraud and/or grand larsony charges. It would never get prosecuted, but a call from an investigator often convinces people to act just a little bit better than they would otherwise.

The last time a company tried to bully me like that, I had paid up front and then they didn't want to provide the services I had paid for or refund the money... so I had my BIL's brother and a couple of his friends go down there with me... oh yeah, and my BIL's brother is in the SS, and so were the two friends he brought... and they were all carrying their service pieces, which just happened to be machine guns... You want to talk about how fast a check could be written... I've never seen a refund check written so fast. Of course that was in another country... couldn't do that here.

I know, I know. I didn't really expect him to do that, we just asked him to tag along with us (my wife and I) because we didn't think what they were doing was totally legal. He asked us to meet him there, then he shows up with an army... it was funny to say the least, at least after the fact anyway. At the time I was too ticked at the company to laugh about it, but as soon as we left I started to see the humor in it.

OJ wouldn't like me... I have a major problem with violent offenders... something in me just wants to snap their necks in half.
