Hello All. I have an older Charger Bass Boat that has a couple of pretty good gouges in the Keel along with gouges in the other protruding edges on the bottom of the boat. There is not fiberglass hanging out or anything, but while washing the boat, I did notice that the boat leaks at these gouges. What is the best way to repair this problem? I think that I could probably put a keel protector on the keel but what about the other edges? Thanks...Jon

Re: repairing keel

keel protector will not fix it. just cover it up. feather back and reglass it. then paint.

Re: repairing keel

For a gouge, what would you suggest? Should I grind it out and just cut a little piece of fiberglass and epoxy back in? Do you think that I could get away with marine tex or something like that? I would like to do it right, but on a boat this old I cant justify paying a professional to do it.

depend on how bad it is, marine tex will seal it.
