Well I finally have her and have removed the rotted bulkhead. I'll try to post pictures another date. I have technical problems right now. I was going to replace bulkhead with Teak Laminate. Mechanic gave his opinion that I would not be happy with the laminate and should fiberglass plywood from Home Depot. (1) Minimize upkeep. (2) strength. I want to stay with the spirit of the original which was probably teak--cannot afford today.

Husband want to glue harwood flooring to plywood. I think that would be just as much upkeep as the laminate teak (if not more).

The teak laminate is $215.00/sheet (ouch). Freight transport is probably going to kill me. Any ideas--thoughts on the matter?

Someone told me on previous thread when I was considering buying this boat that "renovation is not for the faint of heart". I was so sure of myself, but did have a "little" heart attack 3 weeks ago. LOL I need my boat in the water!

When you mention bulkhead - is this a structural member? If so then cosmetics would be the last thing on my mind. There are several options for you to choose - all of which will cost some money. ( aka Boat Bucks )
So your 'bulkhead' is installed and you want to make it look pretty. I'm guessing that this is a vertical piece? If there is no foot traffic then your husband's idea is pretty good. There is also the laminate route which come in a lot of colors and designs. You could also glue a piece of thinner veneer to it, but it will require maintenance - if you go with stain and varnish.
Paint it Dado Brown and forget it. The list could go on.
I guess it all comes down to what you think will be easiest for you to maintain and how it affects the wallet. Remember what the word BOAT stands for:
Break
Out
Another
Thousand
