I have a 1978 Javelin 85hp. The overheating horn sounded and I shut it down. I pulled the engine's cover and felt the cylinders. The starbbord side was hot. I replaced the cover and fished for a couple of hours. After fishing, I started the engine and all was fine. I have used the boat several times since without overheating. I pulled the engine's cover and felt the cylinders. All seems fine. The tell tale stream is normal. I am guessing that since only one side of the engine was hot that the themostat could have been stuck. Should I replace them or leave well enough alone? Happy holidays, Bert
