Replace transom without removing cap

Anyone look at my post on transom repair idea,i'm doing the floors and might want to do the transom also.The transom coulds probaly go another year or two but why not replace.I looking for ideas which don't require removing the cap.It's a 67 Larson All-American 166 with 80 HP evinrude

Not a good idea having 2 threads.
Please add a link to the other thread you are refering to.

Depends how the boat is made. You may not have to remove the cap if you have room to work.
Or just remove a section of the cap. That would be easier in some cases than the entire cap.
