I have seen quite a few articles and questions on removing the VRO sytem from the boat with the OMC turbojet arrangement. I once viewed a post that identified exactly what to do. I have purchased the 4 - 7 psi electric pump and would like it if someone could guide me through the removal of the original fuel pump and oil injection system. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Re: Replace VRO W/ Electric Fuel Pump

How are you planning on cutting off the electric fuel pump if the motor stalls?
If you just need to replace the fuel pump, replace the VRO with a standard fuel pump. If the gas side of the VRO pump still works fine, then just plug off the oil side and disconnect the alarm cables and it will be fine.

I would not put an electric fuel pump on an outboard period. Replace with either an OMS pump or a premix pump and start premixing your fuel.
Electric pumps are a fire hazard.

Re: Replace VRO W/ Electric Fuel Pump

Fellows, I forgot to mention the propulsion I mention here is an inboard arrangement that uses a 4 cly crossflow power head on a Turbojet unit.

As I stated someone on the web site provided a very in depth process for the removal of the unit.

To respond to one of you guys the pump is wired through the regular keyed startignition switch.

The ignition has a deadman switch, fall over the side and off goes the electrics.

On a magneto system when the kill switch is pulled the ignition is grounded out but there will still be 12 volt power going to the pump.
