I just replaced the lower shift cable on my 88 merc to solve a stalling problem. It took me two days of afterwork in 100 + degree heat no less. I had to upgrade the shift shaft bushings as well. This post is an open invitation for anyone who is thinking of doing the same. Maybe I can share a tip or two I learned.
