Replaced my Alpha gen 1 lower shift cable

I just replaced the lower shift cable on my 88 merc to solve a stalling problem. It took me two days of afterwork in 100 + degree heat no less. I had to upgrade the shift shaft bushings as well. This post is an open invitation for anyone who is thinking of doing the same. Maybe I can share a tip or two I learned.

I still have to do the final adjustments and in water tests, hopefully in time for this weekend! (I am waiting on a drive lube pump).

I've got a gen 2 that I am having problems getting the cable out. I just need to replace shredded bellows.
