Re: Replaced wiring harness...won't start

the first time i had my ignition sw out i pulled that out to to help lengthen the wires a bit and i didnt put that little plastic thing back in and i guess it grounded or something and blared all the time till i took it apart.

ive read other threads about troubleshooting the horns and temp senders but ive read so many they are starting to blurrrr. i cant even remember which site i read them on. i was on another site for a while then i found this one im sure you know the one im speaking of.

they are both great sites and very helpful but this one seems to be a little faster paced. you might try doing a search for the threads on the subject. i wouldnt want to lead you in the wrong direction. it seems like when i priced a horn for mine it was $50-$60.

sorry not much help on this subject, and sorry for responding a little slow. i cant type, my fingers are too big and hit too many buttons, i hunt and peck

hope you find your answers and have a good weekend on your boat.:)

Re: Replaced wiring harness...won't start

i cant get my computer to zoom on your diagram so i went to shop.evinrude.com and lokked it up and its a "insulator, horn to cover" #61 on the diagram.

:redface:i couldnt explain to you why i left mine out but that was what my prob was.
but you might want to research a little further maybe even start a new thread about the horn cause it shouldnt go off as soon as you turn on key.

sorry not much help.
