My pontoon restoration project is getting close now and I really need a replacement capacity tag (sticker/label) for the inside. I contacted Lowe and they provided all of the necessary information since mine was no legible. They can recreate one for me but it was 40 bucks. WOW...for a sticker? Any better ideas or links that you guys know of to get one made?

The "boat capacity sticker replicas" looks like a great place, you can also get one made at your local trophy shop. I did and it looks exactly like the original. I just took the info I wanted on the plate to them and told them what I want and they made it... Looks real good and yes it is a metal plate too...

there is the before and after... Hope this helps... :)

If it is $20 for a replica sticker, I think you would be better off spending the extra $20 and getting the plate from the manufacturer.

Not all manufacturers use plates. A lot use stickers. Pretty sure Lowes does. Which would mean paying double for the same thing

Correct - Lowes does use a sticker. I tell ya guys, I'm struggling with doing it at all. I know the specifics of this boat as I've owned it for six years and I am having trouble allowing myself to pay that money for a sticker.

The site someone posted for replicas said mine was a custom sticker and the price is 30 dollars from them, 40 from the manufacturer..........FOR A STICKER that's not even required by law???

Re: Replacement Capacity Tag

When I needed one it was because I was selling the boat and potential buyers wanted to verify the information. You can look up horsepower ratings online but I haven't found a site providing loading info.

I too have yet to find a requirement that says the sticker must be there. But have found laws here that state you must be in compliance with the sticker/plate. So does that create a requirement? I'm really not sure.

I think I will print off the requirments provided by the manufacturer where it shows my particular model and throw a copy in the lock box in case I ever try to sell. Hey, I just made $30 bucks to spend on some ammo........if I can find it!
