replacement rubber around cowl?

i have a 1977 evinrude 140 and i need to find a supplier or cheap alternative replacement for the rubber that rides around the bottom edge of the upper cowl it creates the seal when you put the cowl over the engine? dont have a pic handy. any links greatly appreciated!

Try doing a search. Someone posted a picture of their cowl a while back in this J/E forum and it looked smart. I just can't remember what they said they used as a replacement weather strip. It is possible it is still available from a dealer. Best of luck. Rick.

ahh i think i found that thread rick he split fuel line it looked good too!

The black replacement seal is readily available through any BRP/Evinrude dealer - part # 0319234. The superseding number is 0329548.

The white ones are not available.

That's the one. Split fuel line. He did do a nice job. Glad you found what your looking for. Rick.
