I just got a replacement stator for my '72 Johnson 50 hp because the old one was leaking, but I am not sure how to hook up the wires on the new one. The old one had a brown wire to #1 on the power pack, yellow/gray to #2 on the terminal strip, and yellow to #1 on the terminal strip. The new one, from Seiler Marine and CDI Electronics brand, has one brown wire and two yellow. I assume the brown wire on the new one corresponds to the brown wire on the old one and runs to #1 on the power pack? But what about the two yellow wires on the new one? Does it not matter which one goes to #1 and which goes to #2 on the terminal strip? If it does matter, how do I tell which wire goes where? I just replaced the power pack and would really like to avoid messing up any more electronics like maybe the rectifier or diodes.

The yellow wire go where the old yellow and yellow/gray went. Makes no difference which one goes which place.
