My Boat is a CAJUN 1900 FISHMASTER CENTER CONSOLE with a 150 YAMAHA

First I want to say if it wasn't for my brother and 1st cousin I never would have started a project like this. I was warned before I started that I might open a can of worms. Well I did, not only was the floor bad I have two bad stringers. The boat is not very large but is sometimes feels like, What was I thinking. I just know that we all love to fish.
Removed Center console all wires, removed floor, removed foam ( was like Concrete) , removed old carpet, cut out one stringer still need to remove another one, Any ideas of what type of wood to use for the stringers, and the floor.
I have been reading all the how to books and also getting advice on how to. Just need some ideas.. Thanks
I have pictures

Re: Replacement Stringers & Floor

Welcome to iboats! There is a lot of information on this in the Boat Restoration and Building forum. many people have done the exact same project. A mod will probably move this for you, but if not, search over there and repost in that forum if you don't find your answers. Good Luck!

Re: Replacement Stringers & Floor

My boat is aluminum but last Christmas I stripped it to the bare hull and rebuilt it,16' Sea-Nymph bass style boat, maybe it is just me but I really enjoyed it.
Now everything is exactly like I want it and I know where everything is because I put it there.
It can be a daunting task, standing there looking at all that needs done,
I found it is best to work on what you are on and not worry about everything else.
I would usually go out in the morning and just start on something and that would lead to something else and before you know it there is nothing left and you have built your own boat, it is pretty neat.
Good luck.
