replacement wrist pin bearings

My replacemnet wrist pin bearings look like they have way to much open area where there is no washer or bearing please look at attached picture. It is 1983 60hp 2 cyl.

This stupid computer won't open the pic. Are you using the caged bearing or the full compliment bearings?

the kind with loose bearings and two washers.
The attachment doesn't work is there another way to post a pick?

First you have to have your picture on line somewhere. Then click on the little yellow box with a mountain, above the text box where you write a reply. It will bring up a window where you put the URL of your picture. Works for me.

You are talking about where the rod is allowed to slide back and forth somewhat? That is typical and normal in 'most all motors.

Yep, that's correct. That is a bottom guided rod meaning the crank is what keeps it centered. The pin boss spacing will be much narrower if the rod was top guided.

Good choice on pistons. Just make sure they are the 3111's rather than the 3011's.

So that space for the needles to slide around is ok?

What is the problem with the 3011 pistons?

There's no problem with the 30 series but the last time they were made was 2001. The 31 series pistons are coated and better suited for the fuel we get today.

Those do have the coating on them.
But the needles being able to slide around wherever they want is ok?

If they have the coating they are the 31 series.

The needles are just fine, no problem.
