Or snoop around the net for parts and redo it your self. I remember there were auto electrical shops that specialized in this type of stuff. it's becoming a lost "art".
The Mercruiser guide tells how. You'll' want to get the diode trio, brush & holder, probably bearings, maybe pulley. The case and windings don't fail unless dunked and rusted badly.
Or you can just buy one all made. American &/or "real" brands cost $`150 to $250. Overseas stuff $80 plus ship. I used a cheapie starter at one point while I had mine out for a recondition. It had got wet when I got water in the bilge from a lost plug. Never did put the OE back, it's sitting on my shelf rebuilt.
Whichever way you go, put a screwdriver or wrench on all the external fasteners you can reach to verify they are snug.
