Hello,

I have a V.I.P. boat that I am restoring and have recently got everything stripped off including the carpet. I noticed that there is a bit of a soft spot over by the drivers side of the boat. It's about a foot wide and tappers down in a two foot distance. I noticed that after it rained when I stepped on the flooring where there were some screws for the seats that some water squirted out a little. I am not sure what is under the flooring on this, and am not sure what I am getting into.

Is there anything that is possibly rotting out underneath here ? Any way that I can safely check, or be able to dry it out? Just wondering if I should put something over the deck to sturdy it up for now .... or do I rip the deck out... and start from scratch.

Any help or suggestions would be helpful... thanks

JAK,

do a search on the board using the words: floor rotten, replacing floor.

You'll get plenty to read about.
