ive read alot on this site before doing this restoration but im a bit confused about what type of wood i should use for my deck. the boat is a solid aluminum. ive read that some pt plywood is bad for aluminum i need someone that can give me some pointers before i start the project this weekend. I have been told that where the joints of plywood come together on the aluminum beams to use a tar tape or just some form of cold tar to coat the aluminum does this sound right and what type of screws should i use. Any and all help appreciated also whats this resin i keep reading about ex: fiber glass resin ?

it i were doing a toon deck, i would coat all side of the wood with a good sealer, (not Thompsons). either oil base paint, or a type of glass. either poly or epoxy, poly is cheaper. i would use exterior grade plywood, and probably 3/4 inch tongue and groved joints, i would use stainless screws, but you have to predrill every hole, if you don't the stainless will break off. the coat over the screws with another coat of sealer. when attaching anything to the deck seal the fastener with, 3m4200. to keep water from penetrating the break in the seals.
