My seals on the upper unit, where the driveshaft is was leaking into the bellows. So I yanked the outdrive, replaced the bellows (oh such a pleasureable experience!) and am doing the seals now.

I took the cap off the upper, and removed the bearing (since it was pitted anyway). But I'm curious the easiest way to yank this driveshaft out to replace the 2 front seals. Try to get the nut off, and pull it out? Or is there a way to get the whole assembly out by spinning the retainer ?

The Seloc manual shows a man using a punch to get it out.. Now I can I guess see how you'd get the nut off, but I don't see how it would be possible to properly torque it on reassembly.

-- Joe
