Replacing factory reed valves

I am installing Boysen reeds in my 2000 60hp merc 3cyl soon. Anyone know if the main jets will be too fat after the switch? Also if the engine sneezes at idle will this ruin these reeds? If done properly what gains can I expect?:D

yes, sneezing is bad. so make it run a tad bit leanner instead of a tad bit to lean. sneezing is cause usually by running lean.

it will idle smoother and easier and rev a bit easier . you may see a HP increase, but on that motor, maybe youll see 61 or 62 hp.

I've only seen a couple of things kill the Boyesens. Sneezing at idle will do it and reinstalling the factory stops will do it.
