Re: Replacing floatation

depending on your boat and how easy it is to get to the parts that need to be fixed. If you was to put a 70hp motor on the back I would be telling you that you need to replace everything and do a proper job but as a electric only pond boat the hull is a very strong design and the area under the wood between the stringers is not structural so its really up to you. You will have to check the transom as its just glued to the rear mine was so rotten there was no wood at all in the transom. Its a really easy boat to do correctly but it will take about $800 in material.

The Transom Has Been Refine With A Steel Plate But No The Boat Will Never Have A Motor On It. The Only Thing I'm Worried About is It Becoming Waterlogged. Could I Just Glass Back Over It And Then Waterproof It Somehow?

Re: Replacing floatation

If this is going to be a "Private Pond" type boat with a trolling motor only... and that's what it sounds like to me, You can do just about whatever you want with it. As long as it doesn't leak and has a transom that'll support the trolling motor, a deck that'll support the weight of the passengers and gear, and you always have you PFD's on, It's not gunna be a very long swim to shore if something catasrophic were to happen and for the life of me I can't imagine what that might be. Do what you thinks best and GO FISHING!!!!
