Replacing floor in a welcraft

I have a 1998 Welcraft 192 Classic. <br />The floor has become soft.<br />I have taken the old flooring out and I am ready to install the new one. My question is 2 part at the stern there is foam between the stringers it is soaked. <br />1 Why is it there? (For sound reasons or structure?)<br />2. If I remove this foam what should I use to replace it?<br /><br /><br />Thanks

1. Flotation.<br />2. Two part closed cell foam - do a search (see red search at the top of the page).
