I've replaced the transom plywood and will be installing the new foor this weekend. It's 5/8 plywood sheeting sealed on both sides with epoxy resin. I'll be covering the floor with 7 ounce cloth and more epoxy resin.

I'd like to level and smooth the floor between the plywood and the hull with an inexpensive floor leveling material befor glassing over it.

Can anyone suggest a material to use for this purpose ?

Re: Replacing Floor ????

Question for you jfc092. I have a side question to ask, I am getting ready to start replacing my whole floor (19ft runabout). I haven't torn the floor up yet to see all if or how much damage their is, I have some free weekends, and the floor has two soft spots, so I figured why not do it while I have the time. Can you give me any advise, or how long it would take? Also I am decent with tools, but I don't want to get in over my head. Sorry I didn't mean cut in on your question.
Use an Epoxy Paste............
1st guy-Uh whats that?
2nd guy- I don't know.
lets ask another stupid question before SEARCHING

just kidding but I know this is going to be asked.
Basically it is a thickened epoxy.

1st guy again- Thickened with what?
3rd guy- After the epoxy is mixed either epoxy or poyester you add some things such as Cab-o-sil which will thicken and keep the epoxy from running, glass fibers for strength or something in between all these are called fillers.

I think I will go meditate with the 4th guy now :)
