I am replacing that gasket that connects the fuel line assembly to the tank. Its a rectangular gasket. My question is, does anyone use any type of sealer, permatex, loctite, or anything else with this? The part number is 0310984

I've replaced that gasket and the o-rings on both of my older OMC fuel tanks after the older one leaked fuel all over my boat deck by essentially pumping itself dry, not pretty! There is a nice tutorial here if you find you have the same issue:

Good Luck!

Good post SweetD. The BRP gasket is now Viton material. That's why I said an adhesive would do no good. If you order the Sierra #18-2881 they are still cork (by appearance?). Something could be used on them. I still have some OMC cork ones, but have never used anything on them. No RTV or rubber based adhesives & you noticed Art Sesselburg (RIP) mentioned all vapors needed to be gone.
